"It's beautiful BUT" 2010-02-27
By A. Kaldaru
It is a beautiful set of cookware!!! BUT.... There are no lids for the saute pans. I thought the lids that came with the dutch oven and sauce pan would fit the saute pans....but they don't. :( I am very disappointed.

"Wow!" 2009-09-25
By Proud to be a Thinker (Illinois)
It's a pleasure to cook with these pans. They are beautiful! I haven't had any problems with food sticking or difficulty cleaning up. They heat quickly and evenly. Be sure to use a lower temperature than you would with non-stick pans. They feel very sturdy.I wish they had made them so each lid fit a pot and saute pan, like my boyfriend's Cuisinart set. But considering that I picked these up for less than half the price of his set... I'm certainly not complaining!

"I've used mine for over 10 years; still great!" 2010-07-16
By Vicki Bentley (Virginia)
I fell in "want" with the nifty "waterless" cookware at the state fair, and drooled for years at the demos, but just couldn't justify the $2000-$3000 price tag. I knew I really wanted stainless steel pans, something heavy-duty, and that waterless cooking would be a plus. After LOTS of research, and many e-mails and calls to various manufacturers, distributors, etc. I decided to try this set - I couldn't even find a decent set of regular stainless cookware for this price, much less waterless. Worst case scenario would be that I would have a decent heavy set of stainless steel pots and the waterless part might be a bust. But it wasn't. Right off the bat, I was amazed at how colorful and flavorful my vegetables were, in less time and very little water (waterless cooking should actually be called less-water cooking in most cases). The carrots were awesome! I can cook meats and vegetables in the same pot, sort of in layers, in less time than conventional cooking - the steam control valve provides a sort of low-pressure pressure-cooker effect, cooking the foods in less or no liquid in less time. Meats sear to the bottom, then release as they cook, in no liquid - and clean up is easy. Even foods that seem to be "stuck," like the little browned parts of fried potatoes, soak off in minutes and clean easily. Anything that doesn't remove completely in water comes off readily with a Brillo-type pad (hooray for stainless steel!).Something else I appreciated was that the sizes were ALL good sizes for our growing/larger family of ten. So many sets include little pans as standard, then charge a fortune for add-ons like 3-qt saucepans, etc. This set gave me four saucepans, a pretty big frying pan (just under 12 inch), plus the biggest Dutch oven I'd ever seen, at over 7 quarts! And the smallest saucepan is almost 2 quarts, so it's actually useful. The egg poaching insert with easy-clean cups is a bonus; great for quick breakfasts!I have had my pots and pans for over ten years and they get HEAVY use. They still look great and work wonderfully. These are the pots and pans my daughters want for their kitchens. We like d the set so well that we wanted to make this cookware available to our friends for their kitchens.Combine this heavy duty stainless steel set with a few Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers for a well-outfitted kitchen! By the way, this same manufacturer has another line besides Steam Control, but the distributors I "interrogated" said the others aren't quite the top of the line that these are. These should be the last pots you'll ever need! To use the steam control valve, start cooking on medium to med-high heat (don't use high heat unless boiling something, like pasta water). Then when the valve begins to whistle (like a teakettle), close the valve and turn the heat down to low and finish cooking. The 9-element construction allows you to stack cook with this cookware (although I have not personally tried this): Begin cooking on individual burners and when the valve whistles you can invert the lids to stack the pans to finish cooking. The handles are resistant to heat, cold, and detergents.I've been amazed at how easy-release they are even though they aren't "non stick," and they clean up very easily. And if you think you can't cook eggs in SS, think again. I have photos of eggs cooked with a thin lecithin/oil film (like Pam) and I don't even have to touch the pan with a spatula to slide the eggs out. Just don't cook above medium heat.(The one thing you need to remember is that they arrive with a thin coat of factory oil over them, so you should wash them really well before first use or they could slightly discolor from cooking the oil all over the outside.)I also use my Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers DAILY, by the way. The KR cookers and my SS cookware are a great combination.

"Good Value for the Money" 2010-07-07
By Goldie_Black
I researched extensively before I purchased this waterless stainless steel set. I friend had a set and recommended it. After I checked out her set, I ordered one for myself. I couldn't believe that I got such good quality from a set at a fraction of the price of other "brand name" sets. I have physically compared my set to the others that sell for $1,500 plus and they are virtually the same thing. I only paid $183 for my set. With shipping it was $203 and well worth it. I am satisfied with my purchase and encourage others not to waste their money on the other sets that are highly marketed and over priced.God Bless those who have common sense!

"New Addition" 2010-04-01
By O. T. Lorenz (BANGOR, MICHIGAN, US)
Along with a new kitchen, we purchased new cookware...You must follow manufacturer instructions for cooking and wash cookware thoroughly before using...The product will cook as promised and is a different way of cooking. The vegetables and meats are healthier and better tasting. The flavors of the food come through. My mother inlaw, has had her set of "maxam" cookware since the early 1960's and is still using it! My brother has just purchased the 7-ply, and is loving it as well (he has tried many other types), and was the one who recommended it to us.

"good stuff" 2010-03-24
 By HVAC Installer
I think I am a waterless cookware convert. My mother has an older waterless set she bought from a door-to-door salesperson forever ago, so I thought this could be a quality set. Gotten some use out of the common pieces, and I've been happy with their performance. They heat evenly, even on crappy electric stoves, and they clean up really well. Probably not the set for the gourmet, but for an ex-line cook it's a practical set.

"Satisfied customer" 2010-03-11
By donna s. (Los Angeles, CA)
Just got this set of cookware today and i love it!!! The weight alone of each piece of pot tells that it's gonna last me a long time. I'm just a bit worried about what the other customers are saying about the valves that fall off. I hope it won't happen to me, coz i really love this set of cookware. I've always wanted to buy a set of Saladmaster, but right now, it's not the top priority on my budget and I'm glad I found Maxam cookware online. I have no regrets that I bought this set, even if the valves fall off someday. I think it could be fixed so I'll just worry about that later. It really is worth the money, for $187 plus free shipping, it's definitely a good deal!

"Great set!" 2010-05-07
By Peter H. Kosel (Sacramento, CA USA)
I have a set like this. I especially like it for cooking spaghetti ( I use the saute pan) because it lets me drain the spaghetti without letting it cool off and without any noodles escaping. Then I add butter, garlic salt and dry Parmesan for great pasta.

"Excellent but handles get hot" 2010-04-29
By D. Anderson
We have had these for about five years now. We loved them until we changed from an electric range to a gas range. On an electric range, the handles stay cool; on a gas range, the hollow handles act as chimneys to conduct the hot air, making them really hot very quickly. The other features of the pots are great, we like the lids with built-in strainers, the glass top works very nicely and we have never had trouble with breaking or cracking. The pour spouts are very convenient and help prevent spills---because of them, we no longer use our older clad pans that lack the pour spouts. Overall, they are great but because of the handle heating on our gas stove, we are now looking to replace them.

My order came to me with one slightly dented pan, but Amazon's excellent customer service took care of the exchange quickly and easily! Thank you!

"Farberware Classic Stainless Pot Set" 2009-11-14
By Linda Y. Michael (Connecticut)
Love the pots. The same great quality of my original set 43 years ago. Was, however, disappointed with the glass covers. They do not offer the same seal, I get with my old set. The one advantage I have found with the glass covers, is being able to see when my liquid is boiling. I am looking forward to many years of service from my new set of pots.
Thank you,
Linda Y Michael

"A great cook set for a small kitchen" 2009-07-01
By resham52 (NY, USA)
I have always liked the Farberware cookware for over 30 years. The steel pots are perfect. I am not crazy about the non-stick ones, wish they had covers too, and a bit heavier. Besides, I don't care for non-stick surface as much because it could leave toxins after a scratch. I like the glass lids, they are easier to clean. The size of most pots in this set is fairly small which you may not realize from the size provided in quarts, but appropriate for a small household's kitchen. Overall, it's a pretty good quality set for the price compared to all those other brands with highly inflated prices.

Rachael Ray 10-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set

Product By Rachael Ray(45 customers reviews)
Lowest Price : $146.98

Product Description

This cookware set is an exceptional value, including all of the pans needed to equip your kitchen with the most used cooking pieces. As the set contains only basic pieces, you'll really use each and every pan. It includes saucepans for whisking a homemade sauce or cooking your morning oatmeal, a big stockpot for soups, stews or boiling pasta, and skillets (probably the most used pan in any kitchen) that will help you turn out perfect crepes or a simple grilled cheese sandwich. The set also includes a saute pan, a wide, straight-sided pan that can perform many of the functions of a skillet but features deep sides for extra capacity, perfect for one dish meals. Start your dish in this pan by sautéing onions and browning meat, then add your liquid and other ingredients into the same pan to finish on the stovetop or in the oven.

Amazon.com Review

A satiny sheen and touches of color give Rachel Ray's 10-piece stainless-steel cookware set a stylish look that's also functional and durable. Included in the grouping are an 8-quart covered stockpot, 1-1/2- and 3-quart covered saucepans, 8- and 10-inch open skillets, and a 10-inch covered sauté pan. Stainless steel is a popular all-around cooking material because it heats quickly and evenly, while the aluminum-capped bases add energy efficiency and excellent heat retention. Plus, the metal doesn't react to acidic foods, resists corrosion and scratches, and cleans easily with just a sponge.
The cookware set also features high-arching handles covered in grippy orange silicone that stay cool on the range and are oven-safe to 400 degrees F. Riveted on for strength, they won't warp, bend, or break no matter how heavy the load or how often used. Glass lids also keep the chef informed on what's happening inside the pots without letting heat, nutrients, or flavor escape. A nice starter set that's both versatile and inclusive, this collection is perfect for a new homeowner or as a smartly polished upgrade to a worn, gathered-over-the-years menagerie. It's backed by a lifetime limited warranty. --Kara Karll

"FINALLY bought the WHOLE set!" 2010-06-05
By T. Ferguson (W-S, NC)
I have owned a singular Rachel Ray saucepan for probably 2 years. My husband and I would use it over any of the three saucepans we had in our current set. If the Rachel Ray pot was sitting dirty in the dishwasher, we would pull it out and handwash it rather than using a clean one from our set. Don't get me wrong, we have a decent set - if you count brand name & amount of money spent$$$$. They just did not cook as evenly and handle as well as the Rachel Ray pot. FINALLY I broke down and let the guilt melt away and just did it! I purchased the whole Rachel Ray set. They are heaven! They were also 4 times cheaper than my other set and work 100 times better. I kept them sitting out on the stove for a week just to look at them. But who needs two sets of stainless steel cookware you ask; especially if you are only going to use the SUPERB set by Rachel Ray? Well...surely someone in the family will need a "good" hand-me-down set of pots and pans one day, huh? I have a FANTASTIC set to use. And they just better keep their hands off my Rachel's!!

"LEAKY POTS!" 2010-04-28
By Amanda W (Virginia)
The 1-1/2 qt AND the 3 qt saucepans leak where the handle is attached (by rivets) to the pot. It is a very slow leak, but it will make a mess on your stove. You can't fill the pot more than 1/2 way. There is no way to fix this problem unless you can weld. I am in the process of trying to get replacements, but what is the point if they leak too?I adore the frying pans and the ease of cleaning this set. I like that you can see what is cooking through the glass lids.this set is very heavy and durable.

"Pleasantly Surprised" 2010-03-13
By T. Morgan (Southern CA)
I've used my set for about three months now and am very pleased. What I like most are the glass lids and cool-to-touch handles. I've had glass lids before but those handles are awesome.I wouldn't call these stainless steel in that the inside are more of a brushed material and so cleaning is different. I did have one burned item in the pot (for three months use, one disaster is pretty good for me)! The burn cleaned very well but I did need to scour the inside to get the evidence of my lack of skill out of the crevices of the pot. It's not really hard to keep clean but does require a little bit of strength; and, for the record, I have arthritis and didn't find it too much to handle.I read a couple review of people complaining of leaking at the screws. I purposely boiled in each pot and personally haven't had that problem (thankfully!) so maybe their redesigned this aspect of it.All in all, I'm quite happy. They're pretty, useful and safe to use and clean. We don't need to use those non-stick pans anymore. They're bad for pets - especially birds. Better safe than heartbroken.I would definitely recommend this set. Great price too.

"love it...except there is no 12 inch skillet!" 2010-03-03
By C. Lawson
Love these pots and pans! I just wish there was a 12inch stainless skillet that came with the set. I had to order the rachael ray nonstick skillet, since she doesn't make a plain stainless steel one.

"Nice but VERY hard to clean" 2010-02-12
By G. Tavares (Jacksonville, FL)
I've wanted to purchase this cookware for a long time. Last X-mas I decided to get it. They are indeed a very good looking cooking set. The stainless steel is thick in durable without a doubt. The ONLY downside for this set is cleaning it. It is VERY hard to clean and maintain. I have yet not found a product that will help me clean these and not having to scrub it hard. If you don't clean it properly, I will leave stains. Very disappointed with that.

"Fantastic 50th Birthday Present" 2010-04-07
By Lisa M. McMahon (Henrico, VA USA > Ecuador)
Although I had a nice set of Scanpan cookware, not all of it was holding up as well as they claimed. I was careful to use it as they described but there are others in my household who use the cookware who aren't as "careful." I had put the Calphalon Tri-Ply on my wish list and was surprised when my husband said he wanted to get this for my birthday. I've used all 13 pieces in the two weeks since I received them! It is important to read the pamphlet on use and care that comes with the cookware. For best results it is very important to always cook at a lower temperature. (You could almost qualify them as "green" - they must save energy!) I'm not too concerned about maintaining the exterior mirror finish as I know it will get scratched up over time no matter how careful I am and I was more interested in how well food cooked. So far the finish is holding up well under repeated hand washing and the interiors have been very easy to clean with just soap and water.

"My favorite cookware" 2010-01-04
By C. Coombs (SC)
I have been shopping for a nice cookware set for a while. I was really torn between this set of Calphalon and the Cuisinart Multiply Pro, but was unable to locate it locally the cuisinart locally so I could see it in person prior to purchase. So I ruled that one out. So here is my assessment of this cookware:

The good:

1. These pots are nice and thick and cook evenly.

2. The handles stay cool! The short helper handles do get hot though, so use caution.

3. Easy to clean. Even stuck-on egg cleans right up after a few minutes soaking.

4. Very nice classic look.

5. Can be purchased at Bed Bath and beyond with a 20% off coupon (That's what I did). BBB also offered a free stock pot and a $50 gift card which they allowed me to use on this purchase.

The bad:

1. They are HEAVY! All good pots are though. So if you have been cooking on thin light-weight pots and pans, you will need some time to get used to the weight of these. I do not consider the weight to be a true negative point because the weight is a sign of quality, but you should be aware of it. Go to a store that sells these and pick one up. then imagine the weight with the pan full. Something to be considered.
2. Amazon's inflated "suggested retail" price just makes me so mad. They do this on a lot of products though. The retail price on Calphalon's web site is $399, not the $810 that Amazon states it is. I think that is a really dishonest practice and makes me lose a lot of faith in Amazon in General.

3. Made in China. Still very nice quality though.

Overall, I am very happy with this set and am glad I purchased it.

"Perfect Choice" 2010-01-03
By C. Bliss
January 2010: We got our 13 piece Tri-Ply Calphalon cookware in the traditional style in August 2009. I read all reviews of other brands such as Cuisinart, All-Clad, Le Creuset, Earth Pan, and Emeril's, etc. I thank everyone for their reviews since it made my decision much easier. We wanted to get the plain stainless steel style because of reviews about the non-stick cookware stating that after several years it must be replaced due to wear of the coating. We wanted it to last for many years without worry so to get our moneysworth. I could not be happier with this set---it has everything I could need, it looks beautiful, it cooks great and cleans up very easily. We have been using it for 5 months and love everything about it. I paid attention to what people said about cleaning it and made sure to read the manufacturer's instructions on care. Someone online gave a summary on care that was very helpful as well. I use a Dobie pad and/or Bartender's Friend to clean it like new after each use and dry it immediately after washing in warm soapy water and rinsing. If something sticks, like scrambled eggs, I just let it soak or put water in the pan and put it on the stove to a slow boil and it comes right off. The handle is so comfortable and it's nice and weighty without being too much; love the see through covers and easy pour edge too. I never thought I would ever have Calphalon cookware because of the expense but you guys online helped there too........We went to Bed Bath & Beyond while it was on sale and we used our 20% off card we got in the mail on top of the sale; we got a $50 gift certificate to BB&B; plus as a free bonus we got a large covered stock/soup pot [I think 4 quart] for free and a towel and spoon in that box! When I left Bed Bath & Beyond, I felt like it was Christmas! The $400 set after the sale, coupon and with subtracting the amount for the $50 gift certificate [which we later used on a food processor] was about $260!! You just can't beat that, so I was happily able to afford it. I give it the highest rating of 5 stars, don't hesitate to get this great product! Thanks to everyone for giving their reviews, I made the perfect choice!

"Strong Recommendation for Calphalon Tri-Ply" 2009-12-12
By Sharla D. Hein (Houston, Texas)
I did a lot of looking, read a lot of reviews and made the decision for the Calphalon Tri-ply. It had all of the benefit of the cladded cookware, without the big prices of the All-Clad and designer brands. The 13 piece set is a good starter. I added the double-boiler and the steamer. I am asking for the large stir-fry cooker for Xmas.I have used the cookware for about 6 mos. on a glass top range and have found no issues. They clean nicely and when they spot or stain, just use some Barkeeper's Friend to bring them back to life. The glass lids are nice for seeing what's happening; however they may pose some risk if they were left on dry pan. They will have tendency to pop and creak when they come off and on the hot pans. Just take care.Good value and good product.

This was my first set of SS cook wear after years of cheap non-stick pots and pans from different manufacturers and I'm sorry I waited so long. The saucepan, as well as both fry pans, require far less heat to get the job done. The "brown bits" left after cooking fish, chicken or steak allow me to make a flavorful sauce with these dishes I could never do with non-stick.Clean-up is easy and the pans look brand new after a wash and some Bar Keepers Friend. The bottoms of the pans heat evenly and I haven't had any "hot spots" on the cooking surface that would cause problems with my old set.I've had to experiment a little with the correct heats to keep fish from sticking. Once I learned where I needed to be, sticking no longer was an issue. The saucepan has a pouring lip and the glass lid has holes in the rim to allow for straining of pasta after cooking which eliminates the need to use (and dirty) a strainer. I've gone from stove top to oven with fish and steak and had terrific results. I've only had one instance where I forgot to use an oven mitt for the handle - that was enough to help me remember next time.Another nice little feature is liquid measurements etched into the inside wall of the saucepans so if your recipe requires a certain amount of liquid, you can just measure with the pot instead of dirtying a measuring cup.Overall, I have found nothing to complain about and find myself cooking more than ever just to use the set. I wish I had bought them years ago.

"The most BAM for your buck!!" 2010-04-12
By B. Davis
I have had the 10 piece set for a little over a month now, and I can honestly say I love it! And let me tell you, I cook ALL the time - 7 days a week, and at least 2-3 meals a day. So figure I have used these pots/pans at least 60 times by now. I have cooked everything from rice to steaks to vegetables, soups, pastas, sauces, and even things as delicate as eggs! The bottom heats very evenly, and quickly, and the handles DO NOT get hot, which was very surprising for me. Before I purchased, I was willing to accept the fact that I was more than likely going to have to deal with hot handles, as is the case with most stainless steel cookware, but with these I was pleasantly surprised. Even after being on the stove over high heat for a long period of time, the handles are still cool! But that is not to be confused with the handles on the lids - I find that the handles on the lids may become very warm after prolonged exposure to heat, but that it is generally to be expected if lid handles are not rubber coated, but that doesn't bother me in the least. To me, the weight of each individual piece of cookware is just perfect - heavy enough to feel sturdy and durable, but light enough for me to comfortably lift and move them with one hand while cooking (assuming I don't have something heavy in them). That is something that was very important when considering cookware. I know a lot of people say "the heavier, the better, because that means it is better quality"...but seriously, I don't want to have to use 2 hands and develop forearms like Popeye just to lift a pan from one burner to another. Yeah, I need something durable and practical, and this set is it for me.To the person saying that the lids do not fit correctly, I have had no problems with rice(or steaming vegetables and such)cooking properly. From my experience, the lids keep the moisture in very well. And to anyone who has never owned a stainless steel cookware set, and is hesitating because of the "NOT non-stick" factor - here is a tip that converted me to stainless steel forever - heat the SS pan directly on the burner, and get it nice and hot - to the point where if you put a drop or two of water directly in the pan, it will bead up and dance and glide around bottom. When it gets to that point, remove from the heat source, (or you can turn down the heat while it is still on the burner, but it will take longer), and let it cool off slightly - enough to where it wouldn't burn butter if you added it. Return back to the burner and turn heat down to medium(more or less, depending upon what you are cooking), add your butter/oil, and whatever you are cooking, and Voila! - non-stick! It has to do with getting the pan getting so hot that the heat causes the metal to microscopically expand and fills up the tiny pores in the steel that food would normally sink into while cooking (sticking). But then you have to to turn it down to your actual cooking temp so things do not burn, and while doing so, the steel will remain expanded until the pan is completely cooled. That is advice passed on from experienced, professional chefs.Anyway, overall, this set is beautiful, functional, and of great quality. Even "if" this set wears out in 10 to 30+ years down the road, I will definitely be buying another one.

"Quality Cookware for a Great Price!" 2010-04-03
By Andrea R. (Plano, Texas, USA)
There are no words to describe how pleased I am with my new cookware. It is so much fun to cook again now that I have purchased this set!Prior to my purchase, I did a lot of research on cookware to make the best choice for my cooking needs and my budget. I definitely made the right choice by purchasing this set.So far, the performance of this cookware has been outstanding. Heating and boiling are much quicker than with my previous non-stick set (Calphalon), and the cooking is much more even.My favorite part about this set is that there are pour spouts on some of the pans, and measurement markings inside of them as well. A couple of the lids have strainers, so if you are cooking something that needs to be drained (like pasta or vegetables), it's a one-pot job.Even though this cookware claims to be oven-safe up to 550 degrees (lids to 350), I have not yet put any of the pans in the oven. Obviously, handles will be too hot without using oven mitts if you are going to cook in the oven, but as far as stovetop cooking goes, my experience has been that the handles remain cool to the touch.I have seen a couple of negative reviews (on other websites) about some of the pots melting. There is a care sheet that comes with the cookware explaining that the pans can melt IF you place an empty pot on a hot stove for an extended period of time. There are plenty of other helpful tips included on the care sheet. In order to get the most out of your Emerilware, I suggest you read the instructions carefully. They are included for a reason.I am also very pleased that this cookware comes with a lifetime warranty, and All-Clad will repair or replace defective cookware (excluding damage from misuse or abuse). This cookware is prone to water spots when running them through the dishwasher, but the spots are easily removed by using a soft cloth and some Bar Keeper's Friend. That stuff is incredible. Get some after you purchase your Emerilware.Get this cookware - it's awesome. You won't regret it.

"Good low end, but lids won't seal" 2010-02-21
By Master Po (Indianapolis, IN)
A friend and I both purchased a set of these. I thought the quality was pretty good for the price. These are basic stamped steel with a nice disk on the bottom. They won't heat up the sides well because they are thin stainless, but the bottom does delivers nice even heat. My dishes have come out better with these pans because my old set was really cheap, and because these heat more evenly. The main flaw I've seen is that the pour spouts are too deep and not sealable with the lid, preventing you from being able to seal in steam. I have made rice many times, but a lot of steam escapes. It is impossible to seal no matter which way you turn the lid. So the pour spouts are not designed well and the lids with straining holes are only for looks since if you went to pour out some liquid it would go between the lid and the sauce pan anyway. So for the same price, I would try the Emeril set without the pour spouts (pro-clad), the wearever cook and strain set (less than half the price I think), or the wal-mart tramontina set, or pay more and get a fully clad set. I like the glass lids so you can see whats going on, but plan to donate the saucepans to goodwill and buy a nice sealable sauce pan by wearever cook and strain, Tramontina (wal-mart) or All-Clad.

Pros: good construction for price, nice disk on bottom delivers even heat, attractive, I like them much better than my previous set and I like them better than teflon, even though I was used to teflon. They really don't stick as bad as I imagined, and if they do you can scrape with a metal spatula or spoon!

Cons: the lids will not seal on saucepans so its not as easy to cook rice or steam veggies, and its not fully clad. If only the pour spouts were shallower I would give it 5 stars but the pro-clad emeril set seems better for the same price.

"Not very pleased" 2010-02-02
By Beth C (NC)
Emerilware Stainless 10-Piece Cookware Set I have had a set of Emerilware for some time and loved it. I ordered the 10 piece set to get additional pieces to use. The style has changed and the lids do not fit well. The lids are loose fitting and allow too much steam to escape during cooking. The pour spouts with the holes in the lids seems like a good idea, but it allows food to pour out as well as excess liquid. Do not like the new handles and the new style is much lighter weight. Just not happy with the new style cookware.

"Thin cookware, plastic handles" 2010-03-22
By Whitney Ehresman (Michigan)
The cookware is stainless steel, which is a nice feature, however the metal used in the pans is very thin. In addition, the handles on the pots and pans are a cheaper plastic and the color looks more indigo than blue. Overall, not a bad set though, and very affordable (therefore worth four stars rating).

"Fake plastic handles" 2010-02-24

I got this item today and as for the appearance looks fake and the description fails to mention that the (wooden handles are plastic)so buyer beware

"Great Price, Good Cookware" 2010-02-18
By Jose D. Mata (SLC,UT)
First of all, you can't really beat the price on this set of stainless steel cookware. They look pretty, and distribute heat evenly. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because once you burn something on these...... it seems there is no way to get it off. I burnt rice in one pan and tried everything to remove it (Bar keepers friend, oven cleaner, letting it soak over night.... etc)If you have any other suggestions that would be great. But otherwise it is a great product for the price.

"Great value, quality" 2010-02-05
By Strgte54
I purchased this set couple of months ago and waited until I had used the set before reviewing the product. I am very happy with the quality of the cookware. I have followed the instructions regarding no use of incredibly high heat - I have other pans for when high heat is required. I also make it a point not to put the pots in the dishwasher (covers yes, but not pots); they are very easy to clean. I can soak them while cleaning up the rest of the dishes from the meal and then using a regular sponge, dishcloth or non-scratch pad, they come out looking just as new as the day I got them. I would recommend this product and I would purchase it again.

"the pan must use much more oil" 2010-04-18
By C.G. (Queens NY USA)
The product is suitable for 1-2 people, they are light and thin, if cook with water (like soup), it's good to use, but need more careful when frying, better use much more oil than usual and small fire to cook, or it's hard to clean after cook. On the other hand, it's quick to boil, shorter time to reach cooking temperature, or get burn.

"Decent Cooking Set" 2010-02-21

This pot and pan set is a pretty good buy. For its price the products are in great conditions.I am a college student living away from home and this set is a great starter cooking kit for students living in dorms because they are convenient in size and it is worth the cheap price. Also this product was delivered really fast considering that shipping and handling was free.

"Cuisinart Classic Stainless a great cookware set!" 2010-06-05
By UTblue (southwest)
I looked at many sets of stainless and found Cuisinart to be the best buy online through Amazon. When I received the set, I was absolutely delighted by my decision. It's beautiful and with the flat bottom fits so nicely on my flat-top range. It make cooking even more fun when I see the set on my stove cooking away. Not just plain practical for the price and function, but a fantastic bargain for the price. I'd recommend this set to anyone looking for a value in cookware.

These arrived in excellent condition in very short order. They are of high quality and are not only easier to use than the "old" pans as they seem to heat more uniformly, but also they are easier to clean.

"Good cookware, although it stains easily" 2010-05-01
By Jessica (Washington, DC)
This is a perfect starter set that includes the basic pots and pan you'll need to cook for 1-2 people. They conduct heat well and the handles stay cool. The only reason I was reluctant to buy this set was because I wanted a frying pan that came with a lid. So I was so happy when I learned that the lid to the stock pot also fits the frying pan! Perfect! The only negative is that a cloudy haze has developed on the frying that I can't completely get rid of and after I boiled some pasta with the large saucepan, some speckled black spots appeared which I can't get rid of no matter how hard I scrub. I even followed the suggestion in the care instruction manual and boiled some water with dish detergent in it, but the spots are still there. Otherwise, I'm happy with the set.

"Great product" 2010-04-26
By LindsayN (New York USA)
I grew up with Cuisinart pots and pans, so when it came time to purchase my own, I knew what I wanted. I always hesitate to use anything aluminum... you never really know if those leeching chemical reports are true or not. I decided to go with the stainless steel and I am glad I did. Last night, I cooked fish for fish tacos in the skillet and clean up was actually quite easy. I didn't have an issue with the food sticking, just make sure you use oil and let it heat up before you put the food in.I highly recommend this set. Every pot is a good size, cleans easily, and looks great.

"Best $75 I've Ever Spent" 2010-04-24
By Preserved Killick
I bought this set when my Kirkland anodized aluminum cookware set was too scratched and falling apart to use. This set is awesome! It looks great, but it cooks even better. More amazing is how easily it cleans up. Food has almost always rinsed right out, and the few times I've managed to get something to stick, it cleaned right up with some baking soda and a sponge. BTW, I wouldn't use anything stronger than baking soda on these; it works like a charm without the slightest scratching. It's also good for restoring the shine, both inside and out, after repeated uses.I like to toss food when I sauté, and the skillet for this set does it better than any pan I've used, even in my culinary classes. All of the pans are lightweight and easy to handle, and pour really well. The set is also sized similarly to my last set, so my steamer inserts (which this set doesn't come with) from my old set fit the new set perfectly. These pans have given me no trouble at all, but I am careful to make sure the flame from the burner never comes up the side of the pan; something that's true of all pans. To those reviewers who've had trouble with sticking, watch your flame. Since these pans conduct heat so quickly, you can't get away with flames coming up the sides the way you would with another pan.

"Great cookware!" 2010-04-22

I read several consumer reviews that this was some of the best stainless cookware that is still very affordable. I love using it. It can go right into the dishwasher and is so easy to dry! It's important to follow the instructions on how to use & clean it to keep it looking nice and in the best condition possible.

"Still cooking after 32 years" 2010-06-24
By flibbertigibbet
I got a set of Farberware pots when I got married 32 years ago, and I've cooked in them for my family of five since then. My set did not include the baking pans or the mixing bowls. My two skillets are not non-stick, so I can't vouch for the durability of the non-stick finish, but otherwise they appear to be comparable to mine. Lots of good food has been cooked in these pots, and they're not done yet! I think they'll be passed on down through the generations long after I'm gone.

"Best Kitchenware Ever!!!!!!" 2010-05-26
By Christina Piers (California)
Just like Grandma used to have!Yes these pots and pans have been slightly updated from their older version, but they still function and clean up just as well. I purchased these because my Grandmother had a set of them my whole life and they were always dependable, and seemingly indestructible. I say indestructible because I have managed to destroy many non stick pots: scratching the coat off and melting the coat of non stick yuckyness- and that literally stinks horribly and ruins the meal and the pot! The Farberware pots and pans are heavy duty, stainless steel, and best of all- there's no non stick coating on the pots to ruin if you leave your beans unattended (in my case cleaning house) with the fire up a tad too high. The lids are not glass, they are also stainless steel. So no dropping lids and stressing the glass which in turn eventually break. These stainless steel lids sit nicely on the pots, the bell shape keeps the moisture in the pot and when the lid is removed the bell shape actually helps with not dripping the condensation on the lid all over the stove. This Farberware Classic Stainless Steel set is perfect for any cook of any age. For young cooks who are learning, for cooks who try to fold the laundry while the beans have 2 minutes left, for cooks who are a little clumsy and drop their kitchenware, and even the older much more experienced cooks who just want a good high quality classic cookware set. Regardless of the age or expertise, this set is hands down the best that is out there for anyone! And I must add- I searched everywhere including macy's, sears, walmart, target, and tons of places online. This was the only set I ever saw that was a great brand, that had stainless steel lids, and sturdy design. After moving out on my own I have ruined 3 sets of nonstick pots. I laugh now because now that I have this set, it will never happen again. The Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 17-Piece Cookware Set is the best cookware set on the market today!

What a great buy! This cookware is great!...cooks evenly, no stick, easy to clean and will probably last forever. The transaction was quick, I had the set within a few days.
