"Simply Stunning! Plan on Buying More ..." 2010-03-19
By Delta Lady (New England, USA)
I practically stole this first set from Amazon Warehouse Deals for $61.99 (which included free shipping). In return for the nearly $30 savings, I had to "contend" with a box that was a little beat-up (but still structurally sound and re-taped closed). I just could not believe what I found when I opened the package. These are absolutely the best ~ not to mention the most gorgeous ~ cookware we have ever owned. The measurements in another review here are accurate (thanks for that! thanks for ALL the reviews here!), so get a ruler and see just how big they really are. Lovely also that I can use them in the oven ~ no more using two dishes for tuna noodle casserole (the second dish I made witb them), boil the noodles, drain, back into the pot, add the other ingredients, top with bread crumbs or crushed potato chips and into the oven it goes to heat and brown ~ and then comes the best part ~ straight to the table on a hot pad looking like a dish out of the most elegant of restaurants. Like a million dollars ~ or at least like each of them would cost more than the entire set did!The handles do get hot on my gas stove, but no big deal ~ because they also go into the oven as well. I had been shopping for a dutch oven and skillet that would do double duty in the oven, so this set solved that need as well. Beautifully! And I do mean Beautiful! The glass lids are as gorgeous as the pots and pans, the little vent hole is a blessing. This is a heavy, substantial set ~ recall the shipping weight was a little less than 10 pounds. And yet another beautiful aspect: they clean up sooooooooo easily! I have had baked-on tuna casserole, potatoes, spaghetti, noodles that actually sat overnight and dried inside ~ and it all came off with just dish detergent in a sink full of hot water (soaked for five whole minutes!) and a slight bit of rubbing with just the dish cloth. I know, they are dishwasher safe, but I just have not been able to bear the thought of putting them into the dishwasher (besides, they are so pretty, I actually enjoy washing them by hand!). As the "most helpful review" here said, they are extremely sturdy. I was a little concerned about the riveted handles (they could be better with bolts you could tighten later, I would think), so only time will tell if the handles loosen at all. But for now, despite their beauty, these are everyday pots and pans and should be used as such ~ with their elegant looks a great bonus, not to mention that they so far are the easiest of any of my cookware to clean (including the non-stick pots and pans). Right now, on regular Amazon, they are listed at $89.99 with free shipping ~ we plan on getting at least one more set for ourselves and more as gifts (one set each for our grown children, to start with). I am just thrilled with them. And my husband ~ who loves to cook and does at least half if not more of the cooking around here ~ who is a lot more critical than I am of cookware, etc., is extremely pleased with them as well. Even canned tomato soup is something a lot more special in these beauties! And Amazon had them here three days after I ordered them! I'm hooked! It's like an elegant dinner party everyday now! Even when it is just canned soup for lunch!
UPDATE: March 24th, 2010 ~ I want to tell you that with the largest pan, after it was used with perhaps a little too high of heat (or placed a little off-center on the gas burner), it developed a large top to bottom darkened mark with a horrid rainbow-like aura on the outside of the pan. I was heart-sick (my husband had made spaghetti in it) however must tell you that I used a ScotchGuard green scrub pad on it with some Dawn dishwashing liquid (I have not yet had the opportunity to get some Bar Keepers Friend as recommended for stainless steel). After just a bit of scrubbing, I was thrilled to see the stain coming off and with a little more rubbing, it all came off and the pan looks like new again. Now, I read a professional chef's review on a set of stainless steel cookware I have been considering and he said (in effect) the heck with the way they look, that being pretty does not mean they are great for cooking. But these are so special and look so great on the table, that I want them to stay nice-looking as best I can. We have done a good bit of serious cooking in them (use them nearly everyday for one thing or another) and that they still look as good as new (and so stunning on the table) is a great plus.

"Best pans EVER..." 2009-12-14
By Kathy (Corralitos, CA USA)
I discovered the set of square pans at a specialty shop with the lids at an additional cost, but the price was too expensive. I found this set at a much lower price at Amazon and ordered it immediately. I found the set to be everything I expected and more. The pans are great for long vegetables like asparagus. They fit so much better and can use smaller pans to effectively cook. Also the frying pan is effective as the entire pan can be used with no wasted space with the accompanying lid. Clean up is a breeze and I intend to purchase another in the near future.

"Very elegant set of sturdy stainless steel pots" 2009-10-11
By V. Ganesan (Kilauea, HI)
These sqaure pot sizes are the following:
10" by 10" by 5"
10.5" by 10.5" by 3"
9" by 9" by 4" and
7" by 7" by 4"
The product description does not mention their sizes and they don't have the liter capacity engraved on the bottom like in most pots. They are quite heavy, square shape with a slight curve, with encapsulated base, vented lids and very elegant handles. I cook and serve in them. They are quite nice as serving pieces. I plan to buy a set for my daughter and another one for myself since I cook and entertain a lot. I love the mirror finish stainless steel on these pots. They are easy to clean and work very well in the dish washer. The price is great for the quality. I've had very many nice sets over the years and this is one of the best, considering the price. Also, it's a bonus to be able to buy the product from Amazon.com with free shipping.

I really like the cookware, easy clean-up. The glass lids are great, no need to keep lift the lid.

Amazon.com Review

The bestseller among All-Clad's renowned cookware collections, the Stainless line provides serious and professional cooks all the virtues that make All-Clad's worldwide reputation unsurpassed. Key to its high performance is a three-ply, bonded construction. Sandwiched between layers of stainless steel is a thick core of pure aluminum that spreads heat evenly across the bottoms of pots and pans and all the way up the sides. The interior is highly polished 18/10 stainless steel, so it's stick-resistant as well as stain- and corrosion-resistant. The exterior is gleaming, magnetic stainless steel that works on induction as well as conventional stovetops, and, with care, remains beautiful during this cookware's lifetime warranty against defects--and beyond.
This nine-piece set of Stainless cookware consists of a 10-inch fry pan, a 2-quart covered saucepan with lid, a 3-quart covered sauté pan, a 3-quart covered casserole pan, and a 6-quart covered stockpot. Polished 18/10 stainless-steel pan and lid handles are riveted for strength and grooved on the top for comfort. The pans' long handles (holed for hanging on hooks or pegs) stay cool on the stovetop but won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat. Although Stainless cookware is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. --Fred Brack

From the Manufacturer
All-Clad Stainless Construction
Each piece of All-Clad cookware features a unique metal bonding construction. All-Clad Stainless cookware sandwiches a thick core of three separate layers of aluminum between an easy-to-clean, highly polished 18/10 stainless-steel cooking surface and a magnetic stainless-steel exterior. The aluminum core retains heat and evenly distributes it along the bottom and up the sidewalls of the cookware. The stainless interior is stick-resistant and cleans easily. The magnetic stainless-steel exterior gives the cookware a gleaming finish. All-Clad Stainless also features the company’s signature "stay-cool" long handles, lids fashioned from gleaming 18/10 stainless steel, and highly durable stainless-steel rivets. All-Clad Stainless cookware is one of five collections from All-Clad Metalcrafters. Designed to work on conventional gas and electric ranges, as well as induction cooktops, All-Clad Stainless cookware is the best-selling collection in a full line that includes All-Clad LTD, Cop-R-Chef, Master Chef 2, and Copper Core.
Features and Benefits
All-Clad pans with a stainless interior cooking surface are oven-safe up to 500 degrees. All-Clad pans with a non-stick cooking surface are oven-safe up to 400 degrees, but should not be used under the broiler. We recommend using a low to medium temperature when cooking with All-Clad. Higher heats are not necessary and may cause discoloration (see cleaning instructions below). Other features include:
  • Beautifully polished, magnetic stainless exterior layer.
  • Pure aluminum core that not only covers the bottom of the pan but also extends up the sides. This allows for great heat conductivity as well as an even heat distribution so you won’t have "hot spots" when cooking.
  • Stainless-steel interior layer/cooking surface.
  • Long, polished stainless, stay-cool handles.
  • Sturdy, non-corrosive stainless-steel rivets won't react with foods.
  • Polished stainless-steel lids fit evenly with the pan’s edges to seal in flavor of your foods.
  • The All-Clad Stainless collection is compatible with an induction stovetop (with the exception of a few pieces) in addition to gas and electric stovetops.
  • The Stainless collection is dishwasher-safe, excluding pieces with a nonstick cooking surface.
Warranty
From date of purchase, All-Clad guarantees to repair or replace any item found defective in material, construction or workmanship under normal use and following care instructions. This excludes damage from misuse or abuse. Minor imperfections and slight color variations are normal.
Cleaning Instructions
For daily cleaning, warm soapy water is sufficient. Clean your All-Clad thoroughly after each use. Food films left of the pan may cause discoloration and sticking. To get rid of stuck-on food or discoloration and stains from using too high of a heat, we recommend cleaning your All-Clad with a product called Bar Keeper’s Friend. To use the Bar Keeper’s Friend, simply use a soft cloth or sponge and water and make into a soupy paste. This can be used on the interior, as well as the exterior of your All-Clad (excluding the Cop-R-Chef). The Bar Keeper’s Friend can also be used on the exterior of the All-Clad Stainless collection, LTD collection, and MC2 collection. For cleaning of the Cop-R-Chef exterior, simply use a brass/copper cleaner. If your water has a high iron content, you may notice a rusty discoloration. Use Bar Keeper’s Friend to remove it.

All-Clad Stainless Selection
In recent years, a professional-size 14-inch fry pan was added to the Stainless fry pan assortment, as well as several popular specialty pans, including: the small-size petite brasier with a dome-shaped lid; petite roti roasting pan; and the beautiful, large-capacity Dutch oven and French oven oval roasting pan with roasting rack. Both of these one-pot comfort food specialty pans comes with All-Clad’s popular high dome-shaped lid. Other specialty pans include a larger brasier pan with domed-shape lid; a complete family of round-shaped saucier saucepans for versatile stove-top cooking; a flare-sided Windsor pan in two sizes, designed for reduction and the creation of rich sauces; and a contemporary "Soup for Two" 3-1/2-quart soup pot; casseroles; an open stir fry; a versatile wok-style chef’s pan; and a "Pasta Pentola" 7-quart stockpot with colander insert and lid. All saucepans, casseroles, sauté pans, stock pots, and specialty items come with lids. Double boiler and steamer inserts, including the large steamer insert for 6-quart, 8-quart and 12-quart stockpots, are available as well. Stainless cookware sets are available in various sizes, from a starter 5-piece to a complete 10-piece set.

"Not quite drinking the All-clad Kool-aid" 2010-02-25
By M. J Lane (USA)
I'll start off with the positives:
The pans cook more evenly than my Calphalon pans. Not much more evenly but a little bit. That does pay off over time because I can get a more even browning at the edges of the pan. The set looks visually very appealing from a distance. I also was willing to pay extra to get a set that was not only made in the USA but used USA sourced metal.
Those are the positives but the negatives really add up:
First off the edges of the pans look "semi finished" where the cooking surface meets the lip. It looks like shoddy workmanship even though, so far, it doesn't seem to effect performance. When I cleaned the pans and then rubbed the cooking surface down with olive oil I got a black residue on the paper towel. I got the same thing for each and every pot/pan. The only advice that All-clad can give me is to box them up and ship then back for inspection (at my own expense). Fortunately after a few more cleanings the residue is gone but I'm left wondering what it was (web searches proved fruitless). The handles are poorly designed and transmit heat from the pot/pan far too easily. In this respect this set is very much inferior to my Calpahlon set. The lids are VERY thin and do a poor job at retaining heat inside the cooking area. In retrospect I'd love to pack up the whole thing and send it back. I'm particularly concerned about what the black residue was that was contaminating the cooking surface (even though it appears to be gone). I paid extra because I wanted to get a product made here that I can trust. I feel like I could have saved 400 with the Emeril set and gotten the same level of quality (maybe better).

"why I love my all clad stainless pots" 2010-01-09
By B&B keeper (beautiful Monadnock region of NH)
I have been cooking for a long time, I'm 51 and my life is about food. I purchased my first All Clad pots 10 or 15 years ago after my old set of Revere Ware lost their handles. Yes, these pots probably heat evenly, not really sure about some of those details. My rock solid reason for investing in these pots (they are certainly an investment) is that they are invincible. I have used pots in the past that if you burn something in them (and I mean the kind of burning that you walked away, forgot and came back to a black mess that is near impossible to get off) you might as well throw the pot away. Not so with All Clad. It still isn't easy to bring them back but simmering with baking soda and water will do most of the loosening and then a final polish with Bar Keeper and they look almost as good as new. Love my All Clad. These are definitely a life time investment - no chance these handles will be falling off. I'm now excited to make these the first gift I buy for my son who is moving into his own apartment.

"Amazing" 2009-12-17

This cookware is worth its weight in gold. I cannot say enough positive things. It is beautiful, wonderful heat distribution and the food tastes better! You will not regret this investment.

"Fabulous cookware" 2008-12-16
By phyl
These are beautiful pots! I caught the set at a really great price, which is hard to find for All Clad, after browsing a lot on Amazon and other websites. The price went up the very next day so I was lucky. It would have been nice to have a small 1 or 1.5 quart saucepan in the set, but it was a great deal for 9 pieces of All Clad. Thanks Amazon!

"Great pots! Don't forget to buy the cleaner Calphalon recommends!!" 2010-02-24
By Mark Evans (Jamaica, NY USA)
Sigh... What wonderful pots. They conduct heat fantastically, look smashing, and are just a joy to use.
Cleaning-
Initially, after cooking a few meals I became quite distraught at the staining and phantom residue that the pans were retaining. Scrubbing with a scouring pad didn't work and soaking proved fruitless. Inside of two weeks the pots looked "used." With nowhere else to turn, I decided to purchase the product Calphalon RECOMMENDS for cleaning their pots, Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ. Look it up on the 'net. This stuff WORKS. After using Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ my pots look BRAND NEW again. Don't forget to pick some up at the grocery store after you buy these pots. You won't be sorry. Who would have thought that it's best to follow the manufacturers recommendations. ;)

"Simply Amazing" 2009-12-26
By Diane M. Napolitano (Bay Shore, NY United States)
I'm on a crusade against Teflon (as much as one can be lol) and love the look and the durability of stainless steel cookware. However, for some inexplicable reason, most stainless steel cookware has handles that are also stainless steel, so the handles heat up along with the pan. Seeing how this is a huge inconvenience for anyone who actually wants to use stainless steel pans, when I saw this set, with silicone rubber around the handles, I knew I needed them. (Also, I'd been using my grandmother's Farberware pots and the handles started becoming loose, and they DON'T make Farberware like they used to lol.) $199 is a lot, granted, but you get a lot in this set, and the glass covers and the cookware is of extremely high quality. The pots and pants heat up quick and evenly, and they're heavy, extremely durable, and dishwasher safe. Calphalon for the win.

"beautifully made" 2010-06-24

I had purchased these pans to replace a set of Farberware Milenium cookware. I am more than pleased with this set and the way they do keep the heat regulated well and clean up easy.

"This set certainly met my expectations" 2010-05-03
By M. Dreikorn (Bokeelia, Florida)
The price for value proposition is certainly met for this set. Though, I would have liked a lid for the fying pans. The quality is what I was looking for and the Made in the USA aspect is what we should be looking for. I'll buy more pieces in the near future.

"Quality problem with laminated layers Marcus Samuelsson 10 piece set" 2010-04-03
By Beth (Brewster, MA USA)
Perhaps the quality problem I had with the 10 piece Marcus Samuelsson Cookware set I bought was unusual as I haven't read of anyone else describing it. The laminated metals, stainless, aluminum, stainless were not properly bonded on three of the pans in my set. Examining the top edges of the pans revealed little ridges with gaps in sections of the three layers of metal on each of the three pans, these were also palpable with my finger nail and looked unfinished. The cookware set is nicely designed with snug fitting lids, comfortable handles to hold and each of a respectable weight. I thought my search was over for a new set of pots when I read about these and if my set not had lamination issues I would have kept them, instead they were returned to chef's catalog unused so I can only assume they would have performed well on the stove.

"Made in U.S.A. Affordable, Quality Cookware." 2010-03-28
By Utah Movie Buff (Ogden, Utah United States)
I purchased the 10-piece stainless steel cookware set and a 10" open stock skillet about one month ago. My wife and I have been very pleased with this cookware. Our previous cookware was Calphalon Commercial Hard Anodized, made in Toledo, Ohio. We were very pleased with the Calphalon cookware. In fact we have given those pots and pans to our sons for their own kitchens. However, I wanted to switch to multi-ply stainless steel cookware for some time. Our previous hard anodized aluminum cookware responded very quickly to changes in temperatures. However, my wife and I have found that multi-ply stainless steel heats up and cools down slightly slower than hard anodized aluminum. In fact these multi-ply pans retain heat more like cast iron. Following the directions to use medium heat settings has given us very good results. Soaking in water and using Bar Keepers Friend stainless steel cleaner has made clean up very easy. It was very important for me to purchase cookware made in the U.S.A. or to be more accurate, I wanted to avoid "Made in China" cookware. I'm not opposed to Chinese cookware. I just have found, in my research, that current Chinese made cookware lacks consistent quality control. I considered All-Clad stainless steel, however the price was prohibitively high. When I discovered Marcus cookware made in U.S.A. by Regal Ware, I was excited that the price was easier on the wallet. I had some questions about this cookware and sent emails to Regal Ware. Chris Robason, National Sales Manager for Regal Ware, answered each of my emails very promptly. He assured me that Marcus Cookware, including the lids, were made in West Bend, Wisconsin. Also, he informed me that Regal Ware is going to add open stock pieces to the Marcus/Unity line of cookware. The Regal Ware website already shows a new 12" saute pan has been added to this line of cookware. The Marcus/Unity cookware is very high quality. The stainless steel, aluminum tri-ply construction heats evenly, is very sturdy, and has good, balanced weight. The brushed, stainless steel handles are very comfortable. I really like the helper handles on the sauce pans. The lids fit very well and have enough weight to sit firmly on the pans. Also, knowing that Regal Ware is going to add more pieces of cookware to the Marcus/Unity line shows their commitment to providing quality, reasonably priced, American made products. The only improvement I would recommend, is to add a rolled edge to the pans for easier pouring.

"great set!" 2010-01-30
By A. Panagakos (CT)
The handles are long, which is a great thing until you try to store them. If you plan to hang them, the handles are perfect for that. They work great - glad the pans are not coated. They have been very easy to clean.

"Kitchenware" 2010-02-05
By Kaitlin A. Ni Loughliln (Portland, OR)
I LOVE THESE! What more can be said? I got a great deal, bought them because my late spouse was a chef and I found that I was woefully inept and ill-equipped in the kithcen. I decided to rectify that and these were my start. I enjoy using them, they are easy to clean and care for and I'm sure i can attribute my improved cooking skills, in part, to this set.

I've been suing these for a couple months and have no complaints so far. They've worked great and I've never felt like I need another size pot or pa not included in this set. I am extremely happy with this.

"Best nonstick cookware I ever owned" 2009-12-21
By ManangK (USA)
I previously received as a gift a big and wrist-breaking, heavy Calphalon anodized saucepan that was placed in the dishwasher because hubby thought it would not hurt. After that, the nonstick coating started to flake. Whether or not it was the dishwasher that did that, I dared not buy Calphalon. I decided to get this set because it was on sale, to replace my flimsy cheap set, and hopefully it was better as far as nonstick feature and sturdiness were concerned. They exceeded my expectations!!! Really nonstick and so easy to clean. I can use a metal ladle or spatula and these did not scratch the surface (I think as long as it is blunt, it won't), and to me that is important not to be using the silicone ladles or spatulas, especially that I tend to leave them in the pan for long periods then they melt after a while. Circulon heats up really good, and well-distributed at that! I like the stainless steel look on the outside as well. Highly recommended.

This is awesome cookware, I bought an induction stove and wanted nice, but not really expensive cookware that was coated. This is the greatest cookware, no complaints.

"great set of pots and pans" 2009-10-17

I replaced an old set that had begun flaking inside. I used the set for the past month daily and have found it great. It cooks evenly and is simply a wipe clean utensil set, inside as well as outside. I highly recommend it.

"copper bottom Paula Dean Cookware" 2010-08-14
By Michele D. Brandimarte (WV)
These are very good looking but ultimately very high maintenance pots and pans. When you get the pans the directions say to soak the them in baking soda and water for 20mins to remove some kind of film they spray on the pans to keep them from scratching while being shipped. The copper bottoms are very nice and the inset Paula Dean stamp in a very nice detail however, I had to send back the first set of pans because even though I followed the directions perfectly they were still ruined the first time I used them. The bottoms became discolored and burnt looking with black streaks; I even made sure not to exceed the recommended heat settings which is medium. The smallest pan in the set, a 8inch skillet, became so discolored it was yellow! Black streaks were listed as being a "side effect" if the protective film wasn't removed before use, but I knew I did everything like the directions said to do and the copper had done more than turn black it had yellowed and came off completely. I felt that maybe I got a bad batch of pans so I returned them for a replacement. This time I soaked the pans for 30mins in two boxes of baking soda. Then I used a natural sponge and a more baking soda to scrub the bottoms for 5-10mins. This time the pans have not yellowed or lost any of the copper bottom but there are still a few black spots where I assume I didn't get all the protective film. I feel as if I've done more than enough to prepare these pans for use. They cook great so I'm just going to keep this set even though there are a few imperfections in the bottom after use. The copper accented lids and the copper sides detail look good with the rest of my stainless steal kitchen.

"Metal lids on covers get HOT!!! All pots seemed petite." 2010-06-27
By teeze
I bought these because they were pretty and I needed new pots. I was extra careful to purchase a style with nice feeling rubber handles so they would not get hot to the touch and could be handled easily. I overlooked the fact that the handles for the lids have a metal rim around them, and burned my hand taking the lid off the pot the very first time I used one. I'm returning them. I also felt the pots were smaller than I anticipated. They were all about an inch smaller than the counterparts in my old set, which is less expensive at Macys. This is a big difference in the little saucepan and the medium saucepan I use for pasta for my kid.

"Great set: functional and stylish" 2010-06-02
By B. Pinson (Cordova, TN)
We got this set after purchasing just 1 pot that is a little larger from the same style. It is awesome!! The lids fit very well. All of the pieces feel very sturdy and like they will last a long time. Cleaning these pans is so easy. The one piece that we bought a few years ago still looks brand new and we use it often. The finish (red) is stylish and holds up after many uses. I really have no complaints for this set. Get yours!

"For stainless steel pans, these are great for the price" 2008-09-08
By R. Eye (Maryland)
I had a set of stainless steel All-clad pans that I gave away since everything stuck in them and with a price so high, I fell for the hype but the pans didn't deliver - wasted a fortune. I then went with Calphalon and like them very well but sometimes, wished I had some stainless steel pots for steaming veggies or heating soup since the hard anodized Calphalon tends to be difficult to clean with some foods without scouring. I love the silicone handles on this set and the price was excellent given that this same set sells for more than $300 at Neiman Marcus. The bottoms of these pans are not insulated and I put them on par with my old Farberware - which was more durable than the new Farberware.

"THESE ARE THE WORST PANS I'VE EVER OWNED" 2010-08-07
By JB15606
Amazon should really discontinue carrying these, they are complete garbage. I was looking for a set of healthier, less-toxic non-stick pans, and at first, thought we were fairly happy with these. The design is cool; it's a neat set, although they are not the heaviest pans in the world if you are a serious cook. They burn butter in no time. We bought the hard-anondized set. Then, after a few months of use, about 3-5 months or so, it was like not only are they NOT non-stick, it's like food is magnetically attracted even more to the pan's surface. We're just going to trash them. I don't even want another set or want to fool with shipping and the warranty. They ruin everything now. Even with butter or oil. Our ancient stainless-steel non-coated pans (that luckily we kept!) work better than these. I researched all of the new "eco" sets before buying, and we got these for Xmas 2009, and now by Summer 2010 they are terrible. It is SO disappointing. Please, do not waste your time on these. When we bought these there were 0 1-star reviews, and now there are 15, and I guarantee there will be more. Maybe better eco sets have come out in the last 7 months, I hope so... Oh, and they are definitely NOT dishwasher safe, as it used to say on Amazon, and still may, I dunno. Handwashing is such a pain in 2010. Work it out, Earth Pan!

"very disappointing" 2010-07-31
By D. Grant (upstate NY, US)
I bought a large fry pan for making stir fry and other large dishes. This pan was a mess from day one. I do not remember what was cooked on it but it left a brown mark. Then we had hotdogs one day and there were hotdog sized marks on the bottom. The last thing I cooked in it was bacon and even that stuck to the non-stick surface. After just a few short months the pan is landfill. (not very earh friendly) I emailed the company and of course I got no response. Disappointing for sure

"Sent product back" 2010-07-25

Pans were too small. Looked good on web site. You really have to see them to realize what you are getting. Shipping was free but return charge was $17.00, what a rip off. I will be more selective about what I buy on line from now on because the cost for shipping to return an item more than offsets any potential purchase savings.

"Great pans after 2 months" 2010-07-18
By Russ in Ohio
After getting a new ceramic/glasstop range, we decided to replace our decades-old warped-bottom cast-aluminum pots and pans with a new set with flat bottoms as recommended by the range manufacturer. Based on the advice of a consumers' publication and the mostly-positive comments at Amazon, we purchased the Earthpan 10-piece Hard Anodized Cookware Set about two months ago. When it arrived a few days later we found we had been sent the similar Earthpan 10-pc. Stainless Steel Cookware Set. I quickly re-checked my order and discovered that I had ordered the Stainless Steel set by mistake! After sheepishly admitting my mistake to my wife, we carefully examined the set we received and decided to keep it and try it out. We are very glad we did! The pans appear to be of very high quality, comparable to much higher priced brands which sell sell single pieces at retail for about the price of this whole set! We have cooked (meat, fish, poultry, vegetables, eggs, cereal) in them for about two months (using a small amount of butter, olive, or canola oil as appropriate) and nothing has ever stuck to the pans. The non-stick surfaces appear to be exactly as they were the day we received them. The bright shiny stainless exterior remains as beautiful as new as well. Although it does not affect the cooking capability of the set, they are quite impressive to see on top of the range. Except for the 8-qt stock pot, the entire set stores compactly in the bottom drawer of the range; we nest the pots/pans with dishtowels between them to protect the non-stick surfaces. The well-designed and strongly attached handles stay cool enough that a potholder is not required while cooking on top of the range. One very minor problem occurred with one of the pots when a small slow-dripping leak developed at a handle rivet when the pot was quite full. After a few uses, however, this leak seems to have healed itself. The thick-bottomed pans cook very evenly and retain heat quite well. They may take a slightly longer time to heat up compared to our previous pot/pan and cooktop combination, and we have learned to reduce the heat or turn it off a few minutes before cooking is finished. All in all, our results from cooking with these pots and pans have been excellent. The sizes included with the the 10 piece set are quite useful, especially the 3-quart covered skillet. The glass lids are are especially handy to watch the progress of cooking; however, the handles get hot enough that a potholder may be necessary to remove them. All in all, we are quite satisfied with this set and highly recommend them.

"Follow the Instructions" 2010-07-15
By chnaca
Have used these pans daily for a month now. Go for the stainless and not the hard anodized set as the anodized will stain on the outside (previous set). Follow the directions with the pans. Don't use vegetable oils. Use peanut oil, olive oil, or butter only and cook at a lower temperature than you normally would (pans heat really well and evenly). DON'T use cooking sprays. Clean up is great. Rinse the inside with fresh water to remove the bulk if not all of "stuck on" food then handwash with Dawn and a soft cloth or sponge. Never use steel wool or abrasive cleaners. Hand dry with a soft dishtowel to avoid water spots on the polished stainless steel. I thought it would go without saying but, DO NOT EVER put nonstick or polished stainless steel in the dishwasher. Dishwasher soap is mildly abrasive as is water under any pressure and will eat away at the nonstick coating and dull the stainless. I would buy the set again and would recommend it to my friends. Like you, I read a bunch of these reviews before "taking a chance" with this set. Most either really liked the set or really hated it so I didn't get much from the reviews. I hope that what I've written here has helped in your decision. By the way, Amazon has the best price on this set and best shipping.

"So Far So good nice weight easy to cook with, Nice weight" 2010-05-13By R.C Green (Midwest)
I've read many reviews on this cookware not everyone is happy with it. As for me it's going well so far. I've had it for over a week. I will be coming back if I have any trouble with it. Aside from the non stick coating working well the biggest plus for this set is the weight. They are not excessively heavy. I have wrist and arm problems and I can't be lifting a pan that weighs a ton to pour something out. Heavy nearly cast iron weight has been the trend in upscale cookware lately. The weight is more similar to that of upscale cookware 3-4 years ago. Heavy enough to be sturdy and distribute heat but not unmanageable. The handles do stay cool on the stove. They are very sturdy but partly hollow which helps them stay cool. I like the eco friendly angle on these. They fact that they use recycled materials is nice. I'm not 100% sure these are any safer than teflon. How can you be sure if they've just come out with it? Taking the precautions not to scratch your cookware and not cooking on high heats are probably the best precautions you can take. I've tried cooking with stainless steel and I get frustrated with the sticking and the cleanup.
Don't skip reading the directions!
I made sure to read the directions inside the box and the tags on the pans. You cannot stack this cookware it must be hung or you have to have enough space to line it up flat on a shelf. I don't have much space so this is one point that isn't convenient. However it makes sense that you wouln't want to stack non-stick cookware. Obviously you must use only wooden or non stick safe utensils. You can only cook at medium or low heats with this cookware. High heat ruins it. This means I have to be more patient and wait for the pans to heat up. Once they do heat up they do a great job of cooking without anything sticking to the pans. Eggs do not need oil at all but you have to wait for them to cook long enough for the edges to start curling a little then you can turn up the edges let the egg cook a little longer then flip it. They slide easily out of the pan. I eat long cooking steel cut oatmeal cooking it has been a little diffent.I have to keep adding water as it cooks I've tried adding the normal amount and it absorbs up in this set with the lid on and then it still needs more cooking. I have not yet tried filling it to the top with water. The oatmeal comes out nice and cleans up easily.

Like 90% of non stick cookware these much be handwashed: You do have to wait for the pans to cool before cleaning them per the manufactures directions. I am being very careful to follow all directions to a T. No scrub pads inside the pan only a soft cloth. They give the ok for a gentle scrubbing on the outside only with the proper type pad. They are cleaning up very easily 2 minutes or less most of the food rinses right off without a cloth. There's only one set on the market I know of only one set that is dishwasher safe and they run about $600-$700.00. I believe the maker is Calphalon (not all sets by them just one set) they are sold exclusively at one department store online. I'd rather just wash them and save the money. I am being careful with the lids I gently set them on the pan and remove them carefully. Some people slam lids on and off not helpful to a non stick finish! I wish they had a smaller steamer pan. The pot with the steamer is good for something like corn but the size is a little excessive if you are not cooking for a large family. The set is a good value. I probably got them for $130.00 at the time my shipping was free. If I get 3-4 years use out of these I will be happy. I don't expect them to to last a lifetime for that price. Even though they do have a lifetime warranty there's very little room for using it. They disqualify normal wear and tear and many other conditions that might make someone send a pan back. If go with Calphalon, Circulon or one of the more upscale cookware sets (that weight a ton) they have a more liberal return policy so long as you have used as exactly as directed they do replace pans. However all manufacturers make you pay the shipping to send them back for exchange. Cuisinart is no exception. I would recomend this set based on my use thus far. If you have the storage space and are willing to follow directions by the manufacturer for using them I think you will be happy.

Update: One month later still immensely pleased with these pans. I do get a little impatient waiting for them to heat up on the medium heat. It helps to put the lid on at first and take it off if you don't need moisture in the dish you are cooking. I highly suggest getting wooden utensils. I got a set for 3 bucks from a Walmart type place. I notice even the so called high heat non stick utentsils start to melt just stirring food around. That leaves a potential to get plastic in your food or scratch your pan. So long as you clean the wood utensils up right away (no soaking)along with your pans they will last a very long time. Oil the utensils up after clean up with food grade mineral oil. If you get a little food on the side of your non stick pan take another baking fill it with water and a little soap let it soak for 30 minutes or so and it will wipe right off.

"False claims" 2010-05-13
By optimistic pessimist (Everett, WA)
I recently got a set. The box and advertising stated oven and broiler safe. The user guide in the box said to use up to 350F. Broilers get a lot hotter than that! I left two emails for the customer service dept and got no response. I finally called them and got a rude clerk who really didn't give a hoot. I also rubbed the inside of the cookware with a paper towel and some oil after washing. There was a light black stain on the paper towel. I wonder if it is a safe coating or not? It is made in China. I will probably return it and get the Greenpan set which can go to higher temperatures.

"I am cooking again!" 2010-03-07
By not a poet (Dallas, TX, US)
Love this cookware! I now cook every weekend after microwaving for years. Take all your old pieces to the Goodwill. I especially appreciate cooking without added fats or oils. A hint for onions - slice or chop then freeze overnight. They will cook quickly until translucent without adding oil. Get the square grille or, even better, the larger rectangular griddle if you have a bridge burner on your cooktop. This set is now my first choice for gifting. I used to give bamboo sheets and towels.

"Great So Far, But Wash Them Right Away" 2010-03-06
By Wickerman (Denver, CO)
So far these are performing well. They are very non-stick. Eggs will sometimes leave a little in the pan but they wash out easy. Wash them right away and towel dry after they've cooled off from cooking. I've noticed that if you leave them sit for a while with food residue, they'll get very very slight discoloration which may or may not affect the performance. Overall, seem like very high quality. The omelet pan is great.
**Update: Dropping these to 3 stars from 4. The "everyday" pan which is the 10 inch has started to "stick" on about a third of the surface. Disappointing for the price since I expect the same thing to happen top the rest of the set once they are used as much. I plan on trying to contact Cuisinart and being a glass half-empty personality I'm sure they'll disappoint in their response.

"My Secret" 2009-02-24
By Deja Gworek (Riverside, CA)
We have gone through so many bad pan sets over the years. With the Chef's Secret we have been very satisfied. The pans are heavy giving very even cooking surface. We have cooked both meats and vegetables with great results. Just plain soap and water with a nylon brush cleans them up nicely. I have to get used to not having a long handles on the pan set. I know I'll never accidentally catch on a handle, spilling the contents on myself or the floor. The utensil set I could live without but it looks uniform when you cook with them.

"Fabulous!" 2009-01-19
By Mother of 2 (UT)
I love this set. My husband's work sells some pans that are similar (waterless, no oil, heavy stainless steel) for $1000 plus but the quality is not like these. The quality of these pans are much better. The handles on these pans are much heavier duty and I like the vents on the covers. I also am very pleased with the utensils that came with the set. I had thought about getting the ones from my husband's work (we had bought some for his dad) but am extremely happy that I bought these instead. I would recommend them to anybody.

"Excellent newlywed gift" 2008-12-31
By J. Silva (MA)
I bought this as a gift so never saw the cookware set. However, the newlyweds to whom I sent the set as a wedding gift were delighted with both the quality and usefulness of the cookware. They love to cook and said the set would be perfect for them. Since I got the set during a Friday sale for a great price, I believe this was a terrific bargain, and would certainly recommend the set to anyone.

"Great Cookware" 2008-10-25

Very high quality, with a good sturdy, heavy feel to them. They are made of surgical stainless steel, with is higher quality than regular stainless steel. My boyfriend and I use them for everyday stuff. I haven't tried the waterless cooking technique yet, but I probably will at some point. I couldn't believe the price! This set is an unbelievable deal.
