"Good Value" 2010-05-30

These aren't the best quality pans in the world, but they work great for the price. Since I don't cook very often, they work great for my purposes.

"Good." 2010-05-25
By Sathian Kasinathan (Charlotte,usa)
Nice i found this set, just dont keep it in too much heat to avoid making color while frying items.Even if it does color due to excess heat for the price of $25 this seems perfect size and sturdy and dishwasher safe.I would be happy if it comes for 1 year to throw away and buy new set.

"Decent product for the price" 2010-03-02
By H. Belkola (S.F, CA)
This is my first purchase for a stainless steel set of cookware. I usually use nonstick kind, but mine has been worn out after many years of use. These pots and pan are lightweight and have nice appearance. The pots are really good for making soups (that way the food doesn't stick to the pots.) The pan, uh, I used it to fry some rice, and it sticks crazily. I tried to soak it in water for a long time and still unable to clean the whole dark burnt marks off the pan. Too bad! I shouldn't have done that with this kind of material anyway. The handles for the biggest pot seem thin and not so sturdy. They seem a bit loose, but they are strong enough to handle the job.I definitely love this set for the food safety issue. But for frying, I would recommend using nonstick for easy cleaning. In addition, for the great price, it's good to own one. Thank you Amazon!

"Great Value" 2010-01-30
By Yossarian (Hagerstown, Maryland United States)
Twenty five bucks for a set of cookware? Yep! Now, don't get too excited. This is pretty thin stainless steel. However, if you're on a budget and cooking for one person, and if you can resist the urge to set your stove higher than medium, this little set will work perfectly for you. It's the perfect size for a bachelor and it's light weight. Did I mention it's only $25?

"Good value with one caveat" 2010-01-29
By Susan (OZ)
This is a nice looking little cookware set. For the price, they are better quality than I expected. However, there is one little caution I would like to add: The lid handles are not well sealed and so not only does dish water get stuck in the gap, but steam also can escape through there, raising the temperature of the handle to scalding temps AND if you then turn the lid slightly the hot water/steam can run over your hands. Yes... I learned the hard way. Please be careful and wear gloves.

Amazon.com Review
There's something clean and pure about cookware that's stainless steel inside and out. This stylishly finished version from KitchenAid's Gourmet Essentials series features a brightly polished interior that discourages food from sticking, and a handsomely brushed exterior with a shiny band along the rim. Each pan is entirely constructed of premium 18/10 stainless steel, except for the encapsulated aluminum disk in the base (aluminum makes a superior conductor of heat), and the silicone grip encasing the handle. Even the tight-fitting lids are stainless steel. Each piece is oven-safe to 400 degrees F and is dishwasher-safe.
Whether you want to fry up pancakes for breakfast, warm soup for lunch, or feed chili to a crowd, this set more than accommodates your most typical cooking needs. The 1-, 2-, and 3-quart saucepans all come with lids, as does the large 8-quart stockpot. The 8- and 10-inch French skillets are nice and deep, great for poaching eggs or stir-frying veggies. Stainless steel cooks most efficiently at medium heat, and can be used to start a dish on the stovetop and finish it in the oven. An excellent value, the set is covered by a lifetime limited warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

I love my new cookware. I have an electric cooktop and needed flat bottomed cookware. These items all heat quickly and evenly. They've been easy for me to clean, too.

"Great Set of Pots!" 2010-05-27
By EVEY (Honolulu, Hawaii, USA)
I received this set of pots on time and was happy with the prompt delivery.I really like the look and feel of these pots. They are brushed Stainless Steel, which I have not cooked with before. They are a sturdy make. Two things attract me to this pot. Firstly the base of the pots are sturdy and from reading the technology that went into them, they would be able to distribute the heat very evening on various cooking surfaces. The second thing is the handle. It is a gel based handle that gives easy grip and also insulates the heat. It feel ergonomically designed but it does not state that on the box. the pots are slightly heavy so this is a good addition that alleviates the stress of lifting the pots. I have yet to put them to the test of my rigorous cooking regime so I will update this post when I do.Other than that, I would recommend this pot for others to purchase, for sure!

the best present i've ever gotten. they look sharp and heat much more evenly than non-stick pans. i've had no problems with food sticking, and have found eggs are less likely to stick to these pans than any of my previouse teflon pans. clean-up is easy and the sizes are just right for my needs. i will use this set forever.

"I Love This Set of Pots and Pans" 2010-05-12
By David F. Scrivens
I received these about a week ago and was more then impressed by how nice they are and the perfect weight. They are solid and not like the cheap stuff you find in the box stores. I have a lot of Kitchen Aid things and never had a problem with any of them. I tried cooking my eggs for the first time this morning in them and as some of the other reviewers suggested I cooked on medium heat and the eggs cooked up perfectly and then just wiped the pan out with a wet paper towel until I can wash it later and it wiped clean as new and just as clean as any non stick I ever had. When I got this set I threw out all of my non stick as I was sick of seeing the non stick surface peel off and knowing I was eating it along with the food. All I can say is this set is beautiful and the price can not be beat here on Amazon. Even much cheaper then on the shopping shows on TV and here there is no sales tax and the shipping is free. How can you beat that. You will not, I repeat, you will not be disappointed in this set and wonder how you lived so long without it. I also purchased as pot and pan rack to hang this set from along with my utensils I use for cooking and it all looks so great.

"Solid cookware & induction capable" 2010-04-11
By Biker Chick (Sunnyvale, CA United States)
I wanted to echo the rave reviews on Amazon of this cookware. SS is easy to clean and the cookware is solid. I just got an induction range and it works well with it. I love to even fry a simple egg. It doesn't stick very much at all. Just sprayed a little Pam on it and I have to say this fry pan was better than my All Clad that I bought years ago. I'm not an expert or anything, but I loved how the egg didn't stick as much as my AC frypan did. I'm sure there's little intricacies of why I should be paying $40 for a single 8" fry pan, but I couldn't tell the difference so I'm happy to be ignorant and cheap. Best of all I got this set on Amazon on a special Friday night sale and total was $114! No tax, no shipping charges. Hooray for the free market! Now if I could only find more of these pans open stock.

"Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Steel Cookware Set" 2010-06-15
By soonerfan
I was looking for a cookware set that was safe and didn't have chemicals from teflon. I feel I got a great deal for what I paid. I have to say that I usually have to clean the saute pans by hand with a "green" SOS pad. My dishwasher isn't the problem, as it is new and well rated. So, if your planning on purchasing this set plan on cleaning some of the pans by hand. When you clean them they clean up easily. I have no regrets for purchasing this item.

"Cuisinart S/S Cookware Set" 2010-05-06
By T. A. EVERTON (Left coast of the U.S.A.)
I LOVE this set! The quickness and the evenness of heating is remarkable. They may not be non-stick, but having worked with metal for over a quarter century I was able to wet-sand the inside of the saute/fry pans to 2500 grit, and, with a little oil, they are just wonderful. I highly recommend this set for anyone, like myself, who truly enjoys preparing food.

"exellent cookware" 2010-03-05
By M. Goodwin
I researched for a cookware set a lot. I wanted to get the most for my money since I was on a budget. I came across this set after reading a lot of reviews that for the most part were very helpful. I decided to buy this set based upon what I have read about them. I have had this set for a month now.If you are looking to buy an expensive set don't even bother. This set is great. I cook every night with this set and haven't found anything to complain about. They cook very evenly, durable, clean up is very easy and they look great. I have had no problems with this set at all and if you are familiar with cooking with stainless steel I believe you will enjoy this set as much as I do and for the money you can't go wrong. Amazon was good as always.

"no issues ........ as of yet" 2010-02-11
By Doug E (San Jose, CA)
We have had a RevereWare set for about 10 years and it was falling apart. I searched and found the Cuisinart 14 piece Chef's Choice set fit our needs. My wife wanted an all stainless set, but was hesitant with all the talk about difficult clean-up and burning of food. That couldn't be further from the truth with this set. We have used it every day for about a month now and have not come across any issues with clean-up or buring of food. I use a gas range and have no problem with heat control or having to use "half" the heat setting like other reviews suggest. We do plan ahead when moving from a boil to a simmer, as it takes time for the pan to cool down. Every pot I have ever used gets water spots from boiling with hard water and this is not a sore spot with me. The ONLY concern I have is that the set is made in CHINA and was not aware of this at the time of purchase. I am requesting that Cuisinart send me a written warranty that covers MATERIALS and NOT just workmanship. It has been quite evident from recent news items that CHINA has had an established history using/manufacturing with toxic chemicals (melamine in baby formula and lead paint in childrens toys for example). I hope that Cuisinart is assuring that the stainless being used is actually stainless and not a toxic brew with other heavy metals. I would reccomend this set to those who would like a good stainless set at a good price.

Actually, I bought this set for my son. He has become interested in cooking lately especially after drooling over the food network shows. (who doesn't?) He loves his new cookware, it is cuisinart quality and should provide many years of enjoyment. A big plus is that the set has a steamer insert, a must as far as I'm concerned. It is a very nice set.Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless-Steel 14-Piece Cookware Set

"Cooks Great" 2010-06-03

This was purchased as a housewarming gift for our granddaughter but she says that she loves cooking with it since her new place has a gas range and she has always used electric before.

"Mostly good" 2010-05-24
By Gaia (USA)
Overall I am happy with the quality and price of the set. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is that the lids on the pots cannot be interchanged for the pans. My previous set had this and I found it to be very helpful. Also, the handles can occasionally get hot even when using the right sized burner. Other than this, it is a beautiful set that works well.

"copper bottom" 2010-05-10

I have this set for 2 months now. its great but the only disappointment is to keep the copper part of the set as new. i use bar keepers friend with every use to keep it clean and shiny other wise it gives a very bad look and i dont find that convenient; spending few minutes on every pan with each use as i use these pans daily . If i leave it to next time , it takes even more effort to clean them .Any suggestions?

"Very Sastified" 2010-04-15
By Morris L. Mcneely Jr. (AKRON, OHIO, US)
I did a bunch of research before buying new pots and pans. The reviews I read on this set made me believe that it was the best value for the money. The set arrived in beautiful condition and has remained that way with a good hand washing and drying.

The negatives I saw in the reviews here were that things were sticking and the handles got hot. I have not had a problem with either. In my opinion and from my experience the people who had food stick to the pans need to alter their cooking methods. Non-stick cookware, aside from not lasting very long and being dangerous to your health, has removed oils and butter from many peoples recipies. As for the handles getting hot, you need to use a burner that is equal to or smaller in size than the bottom of the cookware. I use the proper size burners and even when cooking at high temperatures my handles stay cool to the touch.

Hopefully this helps.

"Cookware for life" 2010-06-15
By D. Markusson (Arlington, VA USA)
Love it, love it, love it. After much research, I picked this set of cookware, and I do love it. Some of the other reviewers were right about a few things...my handles can get hot if I'm not careful and the pans are more difficult to clean to keep that bright shine. But it's still fabulous stuff. I wish I had more cupboard space because they are getting scratches from being stacked so tight in my cupboard. But that's life. Love the pans though. I'll have them forever.

LOVE IT - first ever stainless steel cookware and so far it has been great. Easy to clean, use Bon Ami if I have too, but soak it after every use. Highly recommend it:)

"Love it but............" 2010-06-09
By James E. Lloyd (Hanover, PA USA)
I purchased the 12 piece set after months of reading reviews. I really wanted All Clad but who can afford it, I wanted a once and forever set of cookware to last me my remaining days, I am a 64 year old wannabe cook. I love the set, everything that I have cooked has turned out great and have ordered additional pieces. Clean up is super and whatever doesn't come clean, Barkeepers Friend takes care of. One problem has come up. I have only used my 8 quart stock 4 times. Light colored spots have appeared on the bottom of the inside, I have tried to clean them with Barkeepers but that doesn't do anything. Is it possible that the stainless steel layer is coming off and I am seeing the aluminum core. If so is this going to cause problems with acid foods like tomato sauces?

"Basically Good but I Got a Spotty Potty" 2010-06-07
By B. Cherry (Annapolis, MD)
First, let me say Amazon is nothing short of amazing in shipping this item. I ordered it in the morning June 3, and received it in perhaps less than 24 hours later on June 4. That's as close to instant gratification as you can get. Thanks Amazon.

I do like the pots and the basic good clad quality. They heat evenly but I've noticed I have to crank up the heat on the sauce pan to get water to boil. I was expecting thing to heat up quicker, but I haven't noticed much of a difference from the 18/10 I've been using. I'm not giving it 5 stars because as another reviewer noted, I'm getting white spots in the bottom of one of the sauce pans after the very first use. (Tried BarKeepers Friend to no avail.) It also appears that another spot is starting to form after the second use, it looks like it spreads with every use. They're just permanent white stains--weird. I've been cooking potatoes and rice in the pan. Not sure what this is but when you start buying high-end cookware, you expect a certain level of quality. I'm buying these instead of getting the 14-piece All-Clad set I've always wanted because of all the favorable feedback and the price. But I'm now reconsidering that decision. Especially after hearing what one reviewer said about her ordeal with Cuisinart, in which she had white spots forming on one of her pots and said after 3 months of Cuisinart having her pot, it had not even been opened and then once opened it was returned to her and not replaced. They told her she would have to replace the pot. I do not want to go through such an ordeal and having a missing sauce pan as well. I plan on contacting them and asking them what they will do about it and if the matter will be handled swiftly. I'll come back to update you on what happens. White spots seem to me to be a problem with workmanship and/or defective materials. And obviously it's something that is being duplicated in the manufacturing of the pots. They should replace it. I only used them to cook in and I haven't got a clue to why this would happen except that it's a defect.

If we are buying high-end cookware, we are perfectionists and spotty pots are unacceptable and Cuisinart should honor their warranty. We will see.

**UPDATE**

I called Cuisinart and was told to return the sauce pan to them and they will have it evaluated and "IF" there is a defect they will send a replacement. They said it would take 4-6 weeks. They also informed me of the "Limited Lifetime Warranty." They even suggested that I send the set back to Amazon--at my expense of course. You won't get the feeling it's important to them to try to accommodate you or make you happy. Hmmm. I purchased a KitchenAid Blender from Amazon 3 years ago and didn't really use it much. I realized (and this was just last week--it was purchased in 2007) it was not working properly and immediately thought, oh shoot, guess I'll have to start looking for another one even though I never really used it much at all. I called KitchenAid and told them it wasn't working, gave them the serial number and they shipped me a brand new one that day, which arrived the same day as my Cuisinart set. Cuisinart could learn a thing or two from KitchenAid for branding customer loyalty. Boy was I pleased and surprised. It works great. Now that leaves an impression.

I've decided, it's not worth the hassle and the price of shipping (both ways Cuisinart told me), or the wait and being without my pot. Come on, they should be much, much more accommodating to their customers and get me out a replacement right away. Well, now, I'm not going to buy all the additional pieces from Cuisinart. I'm still in love with All-Clad and will purchase additional pieces from them. Might as well go with the product I fell in love with since I ain't getting no love from Cuisinart. Perfection is in the eye of the beholder but I'll just keep my spotty potty by Cuisinart anyway.

"Great set!" 2010-06-09
By Liza M. Burlingame (Charlotte, NC)
This is a really nice set; it has all the pieces I typically need in my daily cooking. (Although a 2 quart saucepan would be a nice addition). I was replacing a nonstick set and worried about how food would stick and the amount of butter, oil, etc. I might have to use, BUT I have been so pleasantly surprised. As mentioned in other reviews, it quickly shows signs of use with some color variation, but they are for use after all and not display pieces. If that is of importance to you, though, then I would definitely suggest getting Bar Keepers cleaner.

"Good enough for the Food Network" 2010-06-09
By Zebracorn (Denver, Colorado USA)
I have always owned non-stick cookware with painted outsides. This is my first stainless unpainted set. I didn't really want colorless cookware fearing it would look too stark and cold. These are absolutely beautiful, inside and out. They look clean and professional. They are a good heavy weight. The handles are comfortable and so far have not gotten hot.

I also wasn't sure about the non stick surface. As it turns out, eggs did stick so I use my cast iron fry pans for eggs. So far I have had no problem cooking anything else.

They clean up easily with a scrubby sponge. Do not use steel wool. There is an instruction sheet to tell you about how best to clean them.

When I saw them used on several Food Network shows I was convinced that they would be right for me.

The only things I would like to see changed are the lids. I like glass lids so I can monitor what I am cooking. I also like the lids to have vent holes. I seldom see that. The handles could be a little thicker. I am used to "comfort grip" handles.

These pots and pans as we used to call them are solidly built. There is no non-stick coating to wear off or flake into the food and no cute painted outside to fade or flake off like my other cookware. I have a feeling they are going to last a very long time.

"flat stove users rejoice!" 2010-06-08

Being an above average cook, not a trained chef, but I do get it done in my kitchen (get outta mike's kitchen) I have used a few nonstick brands in the past, mostly as a bachelor who was not exited about microwaves or baking.

I live to sautee, stir fry, and fry.

When I purchased the set about 3 years ago, i was hoping for a solid feel, a nice construction, and a FLAT pan that wont warp and do acrobatics on a flat top range. (y'all know what im shoutin)

This set seems to hold its shape so that all points of contact are level on my burners. Gas stove users wont care much of this fact, but I do.

Lids fit decently enough - that they are not as heavy gauge as I'd like to see, and the handles on the lids can get hot, is the only reason from 5 to 4 stars.

This is in my talented opinion, an exceptional value for a cookset. I'd like to see a mid-sized pot come with it to make an 11 pc. set. Alas, I purchased one from a local discount store.

Samosas? battered halibut? vodka creme chicken with linguini? you'll find it in Mike's Kitchen, brought to you by Cuisinart. ;)

"I love my cookware." 2010-06-04

Replaced an Emerilware nonstick set with this Cuisinart stainless set with much trepidation. I hadn't cooked on anything other than nonstick for YEARS. I am very pleased with my Cuisinart set. I use lower temperatures as instructed, food doesn't stick and clean up is easy (so my husband tells me). Very happy with the set and the price.

I was a little afraid of using stainless steel after reading reviews about burning food. The whole key is to learn that cooking on medium to medium low is the new high. These pans are great as long as you do that. You've got to let the pan heat on the stove for about 1 - 2 minutes on medium, then add your butter or oil for about 30 seconds and coat the pan with the butter/oil then add your food and cook on medium to medium low. I've had them for about a month and have not burned or scorched the pans or food at all. And they clean beautifuly. I am truly amazed and very pleased with my purchase
