I was pretty excited to purchase this set to replace my old non-stick cookware set, which was a pretty cheap one, but had all the pieces I needed. I realized that is doesn't have a 3 quart pot and had a 2 1/2 instead which is kind of weird, because it's not all that different from the 2 quart. But I was still sold on the set and puchased it. The pour spouts are handy, but whoever said that the lid is still seal in spite of them was deeply mistaken! It wasn't sealed so the boiling liquid would splash out from the spout, making a mess of my range. Not to mention that the liquid evaporated too soon because of the steam that was leaving the pot from the spouts!!! The lids are a bit smaller than the pot, so it's kind of loose in it's place, therefore does not seal it. It was very dissapointing because it could've been easily corrected by having lids that fit the pot better.
As far as the appearance, they ARE beautiful and the handles aren't as much in the way as I thougth they would be. The issue is that I expected functionality from the brand PYREX, even if it wasn't as visually appealing. So add this complaint to the fact that I'm also missing a couple of pieces that I had in my old set of nonstick cookware such as the 3 quart saucepan, and you have an unsatisfied customer :(

This basic ten piece cooking set has lots of nifty design extras. The inside of the pots are marked with measurement lines, which could save you from having to wash measuring cups. The pots also have a pouring lip, making transferring liquids easier. The handles for the pots and pans have a nice comfortable, stylish grip. Most noticeable are the fancy lids. The lids can be hooked onto the pot while you're cooking, so you don't have to find a place to put the lids when you need to take them off. Though the set has lots of extras, it's not my favorite choice for cooking. First, I don't really like cooking on non-stick pans, but that's just a personal preference. If you like non-stick then these non-stick will satisfy you. Second, for the price, I think pots could have been a bit more substantial. Don't get me wrong; they aren't flimsy, but I like pots a little thicker. Third, some of the improvements seem a little gimmicky to me. For example, I don't really think the redesign of the lids is as helpful as Pyrex wishes it was. Bigger, oddly shaped lids are harder to fit into your dishwasher. Also, if your pot is quite full, the lid will be partially submerged in the food, which is messy (my pots are frequently quite full). This is a great, high quality product, but ultimately how well you like it will depend on your own personal cooking style. Look at the extras and improvements and think carefully about whether those things will really make life in YOUR kitchen easier.

We bought the nonstick 10-piece set about a week ago (from a brick & mortar retailer), and thought they were wonderful, especially the measurement markings and the fact that they can go in the dishwasher as well as the oven. However, we recently noticed that around the area where the lid touches the pots, bits of the non-stick coating had been scratched off. Examining the lid revealed a seam in the metal that scrapes off the nonstick coating when you spin the lid while the lid is on the pot or pan. I called Pyrex and they said that there is nothing to be concerned about, as the area where the nonstick coating had been scratched off will not affect cooking performance. I then brought up the fact that bits of coating will end up in our food, and their reply was that the coating is non-toxic. Since I do not want to take that chance, I will be returning the set.

You betcha it can! I HATED the thought of spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on cookware - especially when I am not a huge cook. In fact, my current cookware is from ... err ... 1979 (and boy does it show it). A few months back I finally had to break down and buy a large part to make spaghetti. Paid close to $40 for that pot alone! Wish I had known about this set first because this is a far better deal for the same quality - if not better. I haven't used it much - again because I'm not a big cook. But the pieces I have used are great. Love the fact that there are clear lids. (Old pots/pans had solid lids and I hated them.) I'm a huge bargain shopper and I think this is one of the best deals around. Plus, it's making me want to cook more. (Better check my smoke alarms!)

This is a very nicely made cookware set for the price. They are solid but not too heavy. The non stick is great for low fat cooking and easy clean up. The pots cook evenly. I like the handles. The silicon cover on the handles of the pans prevents burns and slipping. The height of the handles on the pots makes them easier to grip and to use. It does however, require more space for storage. Its a great starter set. After initially trying them, I gave this set to my sons for their new apartment. They enjoy cooking and have made great use of them.
